News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On October 9, 2015 at or about 8:00pm a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a reported assault that occurred near the Siletz Public Library, Siletz, Oregon. The investigation revealed the adult male victim was walking to his Siletz home when he was approached by several teenage individuals near the Siletz library. The juveniles attacked the victim and took cash and other personal items. The victim received significant, but non-life-threatening injuries to his face and upper body. After the initial assault the victim continued home and was again assaulted by the same suspects in the 300 block of Siletz River Road. The victim eventually made it home and notified law enforcement. Deputies assisted by the Toledo Police checked the area the evening of October 9, 2015 but were unable to locate any individuals matching the description of the suspects. On October 10, 2015, deputies obtained surveillance video which lead to the identification of two suspects. The two juveniles (a male and female) were contacted in Siletz and taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Juvenile Detention Center. The suspects are being held on the charges of Assault in the Third Degree (Felony), Robbery in the Second Degree (Felony), Theft in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor) and Harassment (Misdemeanor).
