Plane Crash Lawsuit, Oct. 21

The family of a 4-year old girl who died in a plane wreck on the Oregon Coast last year has filed a $35 million lawsuit against the Oregon company that sold the homebuilt airplane kit to the pilot who also lost his life. Zoey Wahl was a passenger in the kit plane from Van’s Aircraft of Aurora, OR. Her step-grandfather, 51-year old Douglas Nebert, of Newport, was the pilot flying the small craft from Newport’s Municipal Airport May 31, 2014 to Seattle, WA. A clog fuel line, however, caused the plane to crash in a parking lot at the Georgia-Pacific plant in Toledo, a few miles after takeoff. The girl’s mother, April Gleason, suffered a broken back, sternum and rib cage during the crash, but survived. The lawsuit was filed in Marion County.
