News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is looking for 30 year old Jason Ryan Taylor in regards to an incident that began on 10/16/15 at approximately 3:00 P.M. on Brownson Creek Lane, off of Big Creek Road near the Bridge area of Coos County. A Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle, a gray car on Brownson Creek Lane that appeared to have been abandoned. Upon arriving in the area the Deputy located the initial vehicle that was reported and also observed a second vehicle parked beside it with a man and woman moving items between the two vehicles. When the two subjects saw the deputy the male got into his vehicle, a black car and fled from the deputy and a vehicle purist ensued. After a short pursuit, about 2 miles long and speeds up to 60 miles an hour on a logging road, the male fled from his vehicle on foot leaving the vehicle while it was still running. When the male fled from his vehicle it was left in neutral and rolled backwards striking the Sheriff’s Deputy Patrol vehicle. The deputy, who had a K-9 available with him, started a track to locate the male. The Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center was able to quickly identify the male as 30 year old Roseburg resident, Jason Ryan Taylor who had 4 active warrants for his arrest and was known to be armed. The Sheriff’s Deputy discontinued his initial track of the suspect to await additional units and after their arrival an additional track was conducted but ended with negative results. The female subject was identified as 28 year old Grants Pass resident, Christina Ann Michelle Derenzo. She was transported into Myrtle Point and released pending the investigation. Jason Taylor was positively identified by the Sheriff’s Deputy and is currently wanted for this incident by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office for the charges of Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief, Attempt to Elude Vehicle & Foot, and four outstanding warrants for his arrest from Douglas County. The investigation is continuing with possible additional charges for both subjects. If you see Mr. Taylor or know his whereabouts please contact the Coos County Sheriff’s Office at 541-396-7800.
