Unemployment Rate, Oct. 30

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Coos County during September 2015 was 8.0%, which was up from the 7.9% the previous month, but still less than the 9.1% recorded last year, according to the Oregon Employment Dept. In Curry Co., the seasonally adjusted rate in September was 9.0%, up from 8.9% but less than the double-digit 10.4% recorded in September of 2014. Oregon’s rate in September was 6.2%, up from 6.1%, but also less than last year’s figure of 6.9%. The national rate was 5.1% of the workforce unemployed.
