South Coast Jobs, Oct. 30

Total payroll employment in Coos Co. rose by 120 jobs during the month of September according to the Oregon Employment Dept.’s monthly newsletter, “South Coast Labor Trends.” Most of the gain in Coos Co. was attributed to a “typical seasonal increase in local government education with the new school year starting.” Over the year, Coos Co. payroll employment rose by 590 jobs. Curry Co. still has the second highest unemployment rate in Oregon; however, total payroll employment rose by 110 jobs in September. Since September of last year, Curry Co. has added 250 payroll jobs.
