Coos Art Museum and the Bay Area Artists Association present an artist guided walk through of the Juxtaposed exhibition; the art of Allison Hyde and Renee Couture. On Saturday December 5 at 2pm both artists will be present to discuss their work currently on display at the museum. Allison Hyde, artist, teacher, and gallery director, was born in Tacoma and now lives in Eugene. She presents works in several media and forms including installation and printmaking. Her main work in this exhibition Phoenix, is about the transformative process of loss. Conceptual art and rural Oregon aren’t an obvious pairing, but Renee Couture of Glide has learned to make powerful statements. Her work it all turns on affection deals with land management issues and the conceptual grid which man has imposed on the landscape. Juxtaposed ends at 4pm on December 5 and this will be your last chance to view this four person installation art exhibition exploring new vistas in contemporary art.
