Upbeats at Philomath
The Marshfield Upbeats competed at Philomath Saturday. Report from Coach Debbie Brown.  The Upbeats competed at Philomath High School competition on Saturday and did a fantastic job. We have 5 rookies who have joined 10 dancers returning from last year’s competition team. The team won the High School Division competing against South Salem, Sweet Home and Corvallis High schools. We will get back to work Monday to make some more additions to the dance, but also have a lot of work to do cleaning up technique, and alignment and spacing on the floor. Individually the Upbeats did great in drill down competition with over half the team placing. Three rookies placed in Novice Drill Down: Rachel McKenzie, Elise Martin and Kira Bjornerud. Five placed in Advanced Drill Down: Ling Ling Zhu, Chloe Tompkins, Allison Putnam, Kaylee Krajcir and Ireland Gerber.
