Star of Hope Receives Grant, Feb. 19

Star of Hope a non-profit organization in Coos Bay, Oregon created in 1964 to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities has just been awarded a grant in the amount of $5,000.00 from the Storms Family Foundation located in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Storms was involved in the lumber industry of Oregon, starting the Monroe Lumber Company, owning timber land and mills in Toledo, Cheshire, Danebo and Riddle. Mark and Doris Storms were involved in their community and gave generously to many organizations. The Board of Directors of the Storms Foundation President Suzanne Storms Millis, Secretary Rosemary Storms Montgomery and Treasurer, Anna Storms Ingram has continued to carry out their parent’s legacy in giving back to the community. For over 50 years from its inception Star of Hope has embraced and embodied the founding principle that all people are unique and have skills and talents to contribute to society. Storms Foundation and Star of Hope share a similar interest. The award from the Storms Foundation will be used to support the Star of Hope Capacity Expansion Project.
