On February 27, 2016, at about 10:46AM, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received the report of citizen discovering a deceased person in the Illinois River near the Store Gulch Recreation Area. The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, the Oregon State Police and the Josephine County Search and Rescue responded to the location. The deceased person was recovered and the identity of the person has not yet been made. The Oregon State Police is the lead investigating agency. This is an ongoing investigation.
