Camps offer hands-on activities in the estuary with a focus on natural history and outdoor exploration. Campers bring their own lunch, but a snack is provided during the day. Camps are designed to fit the abilities and interests of campers according to the grade they will be entering in the Fall of 2016. South Slough Summer Science Camps are named after the Dungeness crab lifecycle stages-Zoea, Megalops, Instar, Dungeness; June 28 to July 1 Zoea Camp (Kindergarten and Grade 1) at the Interpretive Center (9am-1pm); July 12 to 15 Dungeness Camp (Grade 6 & above) at the Oregon Institute Of Marine Biology (9am-3pm); July 19 to 22 Instar Camp (Grades 4 & 5) at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (9am-3pm); July 26 to 29 Megalops Camp (Grades 2 & 3) at the Interpretive Center (9am-2pm).
