Coos County total payroll employment rose by 50 jobs in December. According to a report in the Oregon Employment Department’s South Coast Labor Trends newsletter for February 2014, “manufacturing posted the largest increase of published industries, gaining 110 jobs over the month. Most of the gain was attributed to an increase of 70 in food manufacturing.” In Curry Co., “payroll employment fell by 120 jobs over the month. Most of the losses were in leisure and hospitality (-80), construction (-50), and professional and business services (-20).”
