Accidental Shooting Investigation, June 15

On Monday, June 13, 2016, Detectives from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25 year old Brooklyn Weiker of Winston, after completing the investigation into the shooting of her 18 month old child, which occurred last week. The suspect in the shooting, Bradley Allen, had previously been arrested and lodged at the Douglas County Jail. Detectives determined that Weiker had aided Allen in departing the scene, prior to getting medical aid to the child. Weiker had reported to law enforcement that she had come across a stranger while hiking in the woods and the stranger had accidentally shot her child. Weiker was present when her child was shot by Allen. After an interview with Weiker on Monday, she was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Hindering Prosecution and Criminal Mistreatment. The child has been released from OSHU and was placed by Children’s Services with family that lives out of the area.
