Tots, Tide pools, Kayaks, Canoes & Wooden Wildfowl at the South Slough, July 1

This Saturday, July 2 program will focus on life in the intertidal zone. From 10-11 am toddlers and their families will learn about critters that you may find on our local docks and tide pools through interactive activities and live examples! Meet at the South Slough Interpretive Center. Please call 541-888-5558 est. 121 to reserve your place in this exciting program! $1/ child. Explore five miles of scenic water trail on Saturday, July 9 from 10 am- 3pm. Bring your own kayak or canoe, (sorry-no inflatables/pedals) paddles, PFD’s, water and lunch. Feet and legs may get wet and muddy at launch points. Driver and shuttle will be provided. Meet at the Distant Water Fleet Parking Lot on Troller Rd in Charleston, OR. Please call 541-888-5558 ext. 121 to make your reservation. ($15/boat). Dale Karstetter became a self-taught artist specializing in wood carvings in 2004. View Dale’s wood carvings of owls, ravens, falcons and other wildfowl interacting in their natural environment on Saturday, July 9 from 1-3pm. Each bird is painted to achieve the look of a living bird. Meet with the artist while you relax in the beauty of the South Slough. (FREE).
