PCS Meth, July 7

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 7/6/2016 at about 7:03 AM two Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a report of suspicious circumstances occurring at a residence on Hillcrest Lane in North Bend, Oregon. Coos County 911 /Dispatch Center received a 911 call from Gale Valand who detailed phone calls received from a male later identified as Samuel Bowling, age 28. Samuel Bowling reported his mother was ill and would not be coming in to work, although it was her day off. Additional statements Mr. Bowling made caused fear for the safety of his mother, 60 year old Dianne McCauley who lives at the residence on Hillcrest Lane. It was suspicious enough that Ms. Valand called 911 and prompted a welfare check by Deputies of Ms. McCauley. When Deputies arrived they contacted Ms McCauley and it was learned that Samuel Bowling was not supposed to be at his mother’s residence. Deputies located him hiding inside of a vehicle on the property. When he was called out of the vehicle by Deputies he attempted to drop an object later determined to be a glass smoking pipe with fresh residue inside of it consistent with the use of methamphetamine. Samuel Bowling was detained pending investigation of the incident. He was subsequently arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and transported to the Coos County Jail.
