Change in Leadership for South Coast Regional Early Learning Hub, July 20

The South Coast Regional Early Learning Hub (SCREL) has accepted the resignation of Gerry Livingston as Director. The Hub Steering Committee expressed their gratitude to Gerry Livingston for her time as the Early Learning Hub Director with deep appreciation for her help in launching the Hub. The Early Learning Hub for our region is working to create a system of services and supports for all children and families in Western Douglas, Coos, and Curry counties. Livingston brought extensive experience working with children and families. Her deep roots throughout the region made her an ideal person to bring programs and services together to align toward their common goals. Livingston’s guidance in the launching phase has allowed the SCREL Hub to move forward with its important systems-change work. Taya Noland, the SCREL Hub Prenatal -3rd Grade Coordinator has been named the Interim Director. Noland grew up in Coos County and brings more than 15 years of experience working in Early Learning. She resides in Coos Bay with her husband and daughter. The Early Learning Hub system was put into place by the Early Learning Division of the Oregon Department of Education. The SCREL Hub is one of 16 early learning hubs across the state, each of which is a collection of programs and service providers who believe in working together to ensure families are supported and children are ready to enter kindergarten. The SCREL Hub supports collaboration among health care providers, businesses, social services, child care providers, home visitors, and K-3 teachers, among others, so that the community can best provide resources and opportunities to the children and families who need them most. The SCREL Hub is eager to engage parents, educators, and community leaders in their committees. If you have any questions or are interested in getting involved, please contact Interim Director, Taya Noland at 541-435-7751, or email screlhub@orcca.us.
