Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) responded to a fire 4 miles east of Gold Beach at 3:49 pm August 2nd. The fire was human-caused, burning just over a tenth of an acre. The specific cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighting resources from CFPA, including two helicopters, were able to catch the fire while it was small. The quick action by firefighters prevented the fire from severely damaging forest resources. This fire is yet another reminder that fire prevention needs to be on everybody’s mind.
