Mississippi Chef Wins Seafood Cookoff, Aug. 9

A chef from Jackson, Mississippi won the 2016 Great American Seafood Cook-Off at New Orleans, LA, August 6th. Chefs from 11 states, including Oregon’s representative Bethy Rossos, competed in the 13th annual event. Chef Alex Eaton was crowned King of American Seafood Saturday night. Eaton who spent some time cooking in New Orleans previously, said for that reason he did a shout out with a BBQ shrimp in the middle. He actually prepared a trio of the three types of Gulf Shrimp, Gulf Brown Gulf White and a Royal Red to win the title.
