Homicide on Ross Inlet, Aug. 15

News release Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier. At approximately 10:00 AM, Sunday morning, August 14, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body lying in the front yard of a residence located at 63368 Ross Inlet Road, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon. Upon arrival deputies found the deceased body of a white male adult. It was apparent from the condition of the body that the person had died as the result of homicidal violence. Law enforcement believes they have identified the deceased, but is not releasing the identity at this time pending confirmation of that identification. The person is believed to be a resident at that location. The Sheriff’s Office has developed a person of interest in this case. That person is identified as 36 year old Lucas Mark Perkins, who also resided at the Ross Inlet location. His current whereabouts are unknown. Lucas Perkins may be using a vehicle described as a 2012 Mazda MZ3 four door hatchback, silver/gray in color with Oregon License Number 401 FXN. If anyone sees Lucas Mark Perkins they are encouraged to not initiate any contact with him and to simply contact the police by calling 911. The Coos County Major Crime Team was activated with the Sheriff’s Office being the lead agency. Assisting in the investigation are officers from the Coos Bay Police Department, North Bend Police Department, Coquille Tribal Police, the Oregon State Police, the Medical Examiner’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office.
