According to a news release from Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier released Tuesday morning, August 16, neither the suspect, nor the victim’s vehicle from Sunday’s homicide discovery east of Coos Bay, have been found. The body of 64-year old Richard Perkins was discovered in his front yard of his residence on Ross Inlet Road. Officials have been looking for 36-year old Lucas Mark Perkins, described early in the investigation as a “Person of Interest.” He reportedly lived at the residence with his uncle, the victim. Frasier states that his office “obtained a material witness warrant for Lucas Mark Perkins.” He went on to add, “The investigators on the case now believe that Richard Perkins died sometime between Friday, August 12, and Sunday, August 14. Richard Perkins and his vehicle were observed at Wal-Mart on Friday.” The vehicle is described as a 2012 Mazda hatchback, silver & gray, Oregon license plate 401 FXN. Anyone with information is asked to contact local police.
