Rock History of Oregon, Oct. 12

Coos Bay Public Library will be holding a FREE archaeology presentation. As part of Oregon Archaeology Celebration 2016, Margaret Stallknecht will present Rock History of Oregon, sharing and discussing examples. Margaret will have two display cases in the library’s entrance filled with rocks and gems from her collection available for public viewing through the month of October. Event will be held on Wednesday, October 12th at 6:30pm in the Myrtlewood Room at the Coos Bay Library and is open to all members of the public, no registration required. Margaret operates the Stallknecht Museum in Coos Bay and travels as a self-taught rock hound, archaeologist, anthropologist, Egyptologist, and stamp collector. She routinely provides classroom demonstrations for science teachers in Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Washington, and Utah. Come join us in celebrating Oregon’s archaeological heritage.
