Reckless Driving, Nov. 2

News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  On November 1, 2016, at approximately 0122 hours, while Coos County Deputies were conducting patrol checks in the Lakeside area they observed a white sports car driving recklessly.  Deputies activated their overhead emergency lights and siren, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle.  The vehicle failed to yield, which resulted in a vehicle pursuit with the suspect vehicle failing to obey traffic control devices, cutting corners in oncoming lanes of travel, and racing around town at a high rate of speed.  As Deputies pursued the vehicle on N 11th Street, the vehicle tried to slide to a stop as it passed Railroad Ave and headed towards the railroad tracks.  The vehicle was not able to decelerate quickly enough and it crashed into a ditch in a blackberry briar patch.  When the vehicle came to rest, Deputies observed a male subject run from the vehicle and head eastbound on the railroad tracks.  Deputies pursued the suspect on foot and caught up with him down the tracks.  The suspect was ultimately identified as Charles Loreman.  Based on his actions, deputies arrested Loreman at approximately 0125 hours and subsequently transported him to the Coos County Jail without incident, where he was booked and held on $40,000 bail.
