Beginning in 1912, the Fair has become the main event of the summer for Coos County residents and is a county-wide showcase of agriculture, crafts, industry and business. The Fair provides the opportunity for all ages, from young to seniors, to exhibit their livestock, floral, land products, culinary, needlework, photography, arts and crafts. The Coos County Fair Board is seeking ideas for the 2017 Fair Theme and nominations for Grand Marshal. The theme should be something that is easy to decorate around and sums up the annual fair in a few words. Nominations for Grand Marshal should include your name and contact information, the name of the individual(s) being nominated, their contact information and a short (500 words or less) explanation as to why they are being nominated, their involvement with the Coos County Fair and the community as well as any other information you believe to be pertinent to the Fair Board in their selection process. Please submit nominations by Friday January 13, 2017 at 5:00 PM to: Coos County Fair Office, Attn: Fair Board, PO Box 332, Myrtle Point, Oregon 97458, OR djames@co.coos.or.us For further information, contact the Fair Office at 541-396-2200.
