Prostitution arrest in Roseburg, Jan. 5

On Thursday, December 29, 2016, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received information of an online ad which appeared to be a solicitation for prostitution. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office, posing as a potential customer, replied to the ad and made arrangements to meet the suspect under the guise of meeting for the purposes of sex in exchange for money. That evening, detectives met with the subject from the ad and arrested 22 year old Ariel Renee Smith of Roseburg for Prostitution. Detectives are continuing the investigation and it is anticipated additional arrests could be made.
