Star of Hope, Jan. 6

News release Star of Hope.  Jordan Cove – Pacific Connector Grant Program has recently awarded Star of Hope, a non-profit organization in Coos County serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a grant of $1,071.00.  This award goes toward the Star of Hope “Sustainable Jobs” Program.  The project goal is to expand job opportunities for individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities enrolled in Star of Hope services.  Star of Hope picks up cardboard, mixed papers, magazines, bottles and cans for recycling. Star of Hope will use this grant money to purchase recycling containers for redeemable beverage containers. The bins are to be placed at public gathering places such as; beaches, campgrounds, boardwalks and parks and will be serviced by Star of Hope. Star of Hope embraces and embodies the principle that all people are unique and have skills and talents to contribute to society.  Further, no individual’s dreams or aspirations should be limited by preconceived notions or predetermined pathways.  The Jordan Cove – Pacific Connector Grant Program seeks to enhance the health and quality of life in local communities and through this end Star of Hope shares in this vision.
