Teddy Bear Toss Benefit, Jan. 26

There is a teddy bear toss to benefit the Kids’ Hope Center and the pediatric unit at Bay Area Hospital.  This benefit is sponsored by Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Junior Chamber of Commerce and Bay Area Hospital on February 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Southwestern during the Men’s Basketball game against the Portland Panthers.  Bring a new bear or stuffed animal to toss onto the court at half time.  Admission is free with a stuffed animal.  The Kids’ Hope Center is the Child Abuse Assessment Center for Coos County.  Every child and their siblings who come to the Center are given a stuffed toy. These are also given to pediatric patients at Bay Area Hospital for comfort while they are recovering.    In 2016 the Kids’ Hope Center provided a service to 331 children.  If you are unable to attend the game and would like to drop off a new stuffed toy, there are drop boxes at Banner Bank or phone Kids’ Hope Center at 541-266-8806.
