In the championship quarter-finals of the OSAA 3A boys’ basketball tournament at North Bend HS Thursday, Dayton beat Horizon Christian Tualatin 69-66, Cascade Christian bettered Salem Academy 49-43, Harrisburg over Blanchet Catholic 49-36, and De La Salle North Catholic downed Amity 67-60. That sets up championship semi-final games Friday at Marshfield HS with Cascade Christian and Dayton playing at 3:15 p.m., followed by De La Salle North Catholic and Harrisburg at 8:15 p.m. Morning consolation games at MHS involve Horizon Christian Tualatin and Salem Academy at 9 a.m., followed by Blanchet Catholic and Amity at 10:45 a.m. Finals will take place on Saturday night at MHS.

First day winners at the OSAA 3A girls’ basketball tournament at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay Thursday included Salem Academy over Lakeview 43-18, Blanchet Catholic 46, Portland Adventist Academy 46-44, Coquille got by Rainier 47-33, and Dayton over Nyssa 41-30. That sets up championship semi-finals today at MHS with Blanchet Catholic and Salem Academy at 1:30 p.m., and Coquille and Dayton at 6:30 p.m. Consolation games this morning are at North Bend HS with Lakeview and Portland Adventist at 9 a.m., and Nyssa and Rainier at 10:45 a.m. Championship games will be held Saturday at MHS.
