Wellness Series at CBPL, March 15

Coos Bay Public Library hosts a series of documentaries on nutrition and the benefits of plant-based living.  “Wellness Wednesdays” will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays during the month of February. The series kicked off on Wednesday, February 1st with “THE HEALING EFFECT”.  Best-selling authors and experts from around the world like John Robbins, Joel Fuhrman, Daphne Miller, David Wolfe, Charlotte Gerson, John McDougall, Philip McCluskey, John Bagnulo and more talked about the healing power of food.  Examines the power of prevention; why bad genes are not your destiny; food and lifestyle secrets from the healthiest, longest lived people on the planet; simple steps to get started right now! The following three weeks will feature the series “Unlocking the Power of Plant-based Nutrition” featuring Neal Barnard, M.D., a nutrition researcher, author, and founder and president of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and Chef Toni Fiore, host of Delicious TV’s program Totally Vegetarian on   February 15th & 22nd.  Each program includes a “Getting Started“ segment with Neal Barnard, M.D. and an “In the Kitchen” segment with Chef Toni Fiore. Wednesday, February 15th – HEART HEALTH – Every day, thousands of people have heart attacks. Those who survive often have another heart attack later on. But this need not happen.
