Burglars, March 31

News release CCSO.  Narrative: On 03-29-17 at approximately 13:50 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 91358 Tarheel Lane, Coos Bay, regarding the report of possible trespassers at that location.  Prior to their arrival, Deputies were informed that persons may be unlawfully residing in the unoccupied dwelling. Upon arrival, Deputies were unable to get anyone to answer the door.  Upon further investigation, Deputies located evidence of recent firearms use at the residence.  Additional Police units from the Confederated Tribes, Coquille Indian Tribe, and the Oregon State Police subsequently arrived to assist. After the assisting units arrived, entry to the residence was made using the Coos County Sheriff’s Office K-9.  Inside of the residence, William Bledsoe was located in the living room area and was taken into custody without incident.  During further searching, Deputies located Derek Zavala and Alora Lattimer hiding in a compartment in a closet.  Zavala and Lattimer were also taken into custody without incident. While searching the residence for persons, Deputies observed a large amount of possible stolen property.  Upon further investigation, Deputies and the other assisting Officers were able to identify and recover stolen property from a recent burglary in the Charleston area as well as property from at least 2 thefts from vehicle cases.  A, firearm, ammunition and methamphetamine use paraphernalia were also located and seized. Most of the items identified as stolen were returned to their rightful.  The total value of these items was estimated to be in excess of $12,000. Based on this investigation, Bledsoe, Lattimer, and Zavala were arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail. Bledsoe for Burglary 1, Theft 1, Criminal Trespass, and Probation violation. Zavala for Possession of Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Burglary 1, Theft 1 (x2), and Criminal Trespass. Lattimer for Probation violation.  This matter is still under investigation.  Additional criminal charges  and arrests are anticipated.
