News release CCSO. On 3-29-17 at 11:54 p.m. a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta with Washington License Plates near mile post 2 on Coos Sumner Route, Coos Bay, Oregon for a suspected license plate violation. Deputies contacted the operator Robert J. Connolly, 31 years of age of Coquille, Oregon. It was determined Mr. Connolly had two felony warrants for his arrest issued by Coos County Parole and Probation for a previous possession of methamphetamine charges. Mr. Connolly had an additional warrant issued by Douglas County for failure to appear in the first degree and he was driving on a suspended license. A female passenger in the car initially provided false information on her identity but was later identified as Andrea C. Gross 40 years of age of North Bend, Oregon. It was determined Ms. Gross had a warrant for her arrest issued by Coos County Parole and Probation for a previous possession of methamphetamine charge. Upon further investigation into the license plate violation, it was determined handmade expiration tags had been manufactured with reflective tape and a permanent pen. Both were arrested without incident and lodged at the Coos County Jail. Mr. Connolly received multiple citations as a result of the traffic stop.
