High Wind Warning Still in Effect, April 7

Weather alert NWS.  HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
2 PM PDT FRIDAY… * Winds: South 40 to 50 with gust up to 70 mph. Hurricane force gusts are possible along headlands, capes, and exposed coastline. * Timing: The strongest winds are expected tonight into Friday morning. * Locations include: The entire southern Oregon coast, including all of highway 101. Higher and exposed sections of highway 101 will be particularly vulnerable to high winds. * Impacts: Gusty winds will make driving hazardous, especially for high profile vehicles. Loose items could be blown about. Tree damage and power outages are possible. Precautionary/preparedness actions… A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Travel will be impacted, especially for high profile vehicles.
