South Umpqua won the 2017 4A Far West League softball title with a sweep of a doubleheader at Brookings-Harbor Wednesday, 14-2, 9-6. North Bend finishes second with a sweep of visiting Siuslaw, 14-0, 10-5. Marshfield grabbed third place with a sweep at Douglas, 8-7, 21-13. The OSAA power rankings freeze Saturday night, 10 p.m. The “Play-In” round will be held May 18th, and the OSAA will announce the pairings on Monday.

North Bend swept Siuslaw in Far West League baseball Wednesday in Florence. The league champions downed the Vikings 8-1, 9-5. South Umpqua tied for second with Douglas after sweeping visiting Brookings-Harbor 10-0, 7-3, while the Trojans swept Marshfield in Coos Bay 10-5, 6-3. The 4A “Play-In” round will be held May 18th. North Bend will have a bye. The pairings will be announced by the OSAA on Monday.
