News release CCSO. On 05/22/2017 at approximately 1853 hours the Coos County 911/Dispatch Center in Coquille received a 911 call of a hit and run that had occurred at 70569 W. Fork Millacoma Road, about 9 miles east of Coos Bay. Sheriff’s Deputies were further advised the suspect vehicle a black Acura was now heading towards Coos Bay. Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies located and stopped the vehicle on 6th Street near Newport in Coos Bay. Deputies spoke with the driver who was identified as 22 year old Coos Bay resident, Elizabeth Broman. Ms. Broman told the deputies that she had already provided information to the other people involved in the accident. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Elizabeth Broman had been drinking. Elizabeth Broman was offered Field Sobriety Test and upon completion of the test it was determined that Elizabeth was intoxicated. Elizabeth Broman was arrested for Driving Under The Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Endangering (for her passenger) and Fail to Perform Duties of a Driver Accident. Elizabeth was transported to the Coos County Jail where she provided a breath sample with a BAC of .11% blood alcohol content. Elizabeth’s bail was $30000.00.
