Criminal Mischief, June 12

News release CCSO.  On 6/6/2017 at about 3:25 PM a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a man beating on a car which was parked at the Coquille Boat Ramp which is located on Fishtrap Road in Coquille.  When the Deputy arrived he found a black Honda Accord with significant damage. A second Deputy located a man identified as Larry Statham, age 39, of Coquille hiding in the bushes near the Boat Ramp.  Larry Statham was extremely intoxicated.  Investigation indicated Larry Statham had kicked the car and jumped onto the windshield causing damage to the vehicle.  The owner was not present and there was no known provocation. Statham was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the First Degree for causing more than $1,000.00 damage to the vehicle.  Once in police custody Larry Statham became uncooperative and began to threaten the Deputies and spit saliva and mucus material in the back seat of the patrol vehicle.  Larry Statham was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree for intentionally creating a situation which necessitated a substantial effort to clean and return to a sanitary condition. He was booked into the Coos County Jail where he remains as of the morning of 6/7/2017. Bail amount is set at $27,500.
