Douglas Co. Sex Offender Sweep, Sept. 4

On August 30, 2017, members of the Oregon State Police, US Marshal’s Fugitive Taskforce, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police Department and Douglas County Parole and Probation, conducted a two-day, county wide sex offender sweep, reaching the boundaries of Douglas County and inner-city Roseburg. Approximately 122 sex offenders were identified for contact during this event. 22 offenders were brought in for registration, 13 arrests were made and 33 non-compliance checks were conducted. 54 individuals were found to have moved out of state, and are the subject of further investigation. Law enforcement encourages any sex offender in Douglas County who has not met their obligations to register, to visit their local Police Department, Sheriff’s Office or Oregon State Police Station and comply with their registration requirements.
