ODFW to host public meetings on commercial nearshore fishery in mid-September, Sept. 11

ODFW will discuss the commercial black and blue rockfish and nearshore fisheries at three public meetings in Gold Beach, Port Orford, and Pacific City in mid-September. Geared primarily to commercial fishers with black and blue rockfish and nearshore permits, the agenda for the meetings will include: Pacific Fishery Management Council update including stock assessment results for 2019–20 specifications for: lingcod; yelloweye rockfish;     blue/deacon Rockfish; Review of the 2017 season to date; Process and options for setting 2018 regulations; Results from the 2016 fishery management mail survey; Input from industry and others interested in 2018 commercial nearshore fishery state management.  ll meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held: Monday, Sept. 11, Pacific Reef Resort, 29362 Ellensburg Hwy 101, Gold Beach; Tuesday, Sept. 12, Port Orford Library, 1421 Oregon St., Port Orford; Thursday, Sept. 14, Kiawanda Community Center, 34600 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City.
