Additional Weekend Work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant 2 Project, Sept. 15

News release City of Coos Bay.  As you most likely are aware, the City has commenced construction of the new wastewater treatment plant at the northeast corner of Fulton Avenue and Empire Boulevard. The construction has been ongoing for several months now, and it is anticipated to be complete in December 2018. At the beginning of the project, Council granted the contractor ten weekend work days. To date, the project has expended eight of the ten weekends, and the construction is approximately 30% complete.  In an effort to maintain the scheduled completion date, staff on behalf of the City’s contractor is requesting approval to work an additional ten weekends. The City Council has asked for public input on this subject, and they will be hearing such input at the next Council meeting.  The meeting will take place at 500 Central Avenue in the Council Chambers on September 19, 2017 at 7pm.  Please call the Engineering Division at (541) 269-8918 if you have any questions.
