Through December, 2017 Coos Art Museum will be hosting Watercolors: the Photography of Dolores Lusitana a solo exhibition by the Venice, California artist. Lusitana has had her photography exhibited in both Los Angeles, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has also had an interesting and varied career with numerous projects involving photography. Among these are: Associate Producer of the Annenberg Foundation project Photosynthesis, Photo Editor for Esquire Magazine’s Dubious Achievement Awards, and Executive Assistant/Producer for Paul Simon Music. To paraphrase the artist – The Venice Canals create a car-free walkway in Los Angeles, California. Found in a wealthy enclave connected by arched bridges and lined with homes that span an array of colors and international styles reflected in the endlessly shifting patterns of the water below. “When I review these images, I’ll often discover things that I didn’t consciously see when taking the photograph….These photographs are testament to our ever changing perception of reality, within and without, and to beauty realized only through reflection.”
