Siuslaw’s boys and girls swept the top spots at the 4A Far West League District Cross Country Championships Thursday at Tugman State Park near Lakeside. The Vikings boys won with 28-points, followed by Marshfield with 49, North Bend 86, So. Umpqua 99 and Brookings-Harbor 116. The top two teams qualify to run at the OSAA State Championships Nov. 4, at Lane CC in Eugene. In the girl’s race, Siuslaw won with 38-points, followed by So. Umpqua with 55, North Bend 56 and Marshfield 70. Individually: Marshfield’s Jazmin Chavez won the girl’s title with a time of 19:48.81 for 5,000 meters. Her teammate Kaylee Delzotti placed 5th (20:16.68), followed by 16 Kaylin Dea 22:14.55; 22 Emily Kruse 22:50.44; 26 Hannah Beaulieu 24:34.26; 27 Kensey Harlow 25:20.16; 30 Jaycee Smith 27:25.49.
