News release CCSO.  The Coos County Sheriff’s Office received information that a predatory sex offender was living in the Powers, OR area and was wanted for absconding from the Oregon State Parole Board. Deputies were able to get additional information and found 79 year old Robert Joyner living in a camp trailer on a property which was parked on a property in the Powers, OR area. The property was also the residence of a family which included children. Deputies have no reason to believe the family knew about Robert Joyner’s criminal history or his status as a predatory sexual offender. Robert Joyner’s original conviction was for Sodomy in the First Degree. He was placed on supervision in Clackamas County, OR and absconded in 2011. He had been wanted since then. Robert Joyner also had additional warrants which included a traffic warrant out of Junction City, OR, and a DUII & Reckless Driving warrant out of Crook County, OR. Robert Joyner was arrested without incident and transported to the Coos County Jail where he was lodged pending a transfer to the Clackamas County Jail.
