Assault IV
News release CCSO. On 11/15/2017 at 0812 Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a physical fight at 63762 City View Drive, Coos Bay, Oregon. Upon investigation it was alleged Deion Dyson 18 years of age of Coos Bay struck a 35 year old female at the location and fled on foot armed with a reported BB gun stuck in his waist band. The dispute was over property belonging to Mr. Dyson kept at the address. The female received a laceration to her lip and refused medical treatment. At approximately 1030 hours Mr. Dyson was located at a local fast food restaurant in Coos Bay, which he is employed at. Mr. Dyson was taken into custody without incident. Incident to arrest Mr. Dyson was found to be in possession of approximately 20 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, a schedule I controlled substance. Mr. Dyson was transported to the Coos County Jail and later released on his own recognizance. Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office.
DUII
News release CCSO. On November 14, 2017, at about 2315 hours, Bay Cities Ambulance relayed information to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office about a possible intoxicated driver on Highway 42, eastbound from the 42/101 junction. The vehicle, a 2015 Ford F-250 hauling a camp trailer, was registered out of Roseburg. The ambulance stated while they were enroute to a call, the truck almost collided with the ambulance and ran them off the road. Deputies located the vehicle traveling eastound on Highway 42 near S Cedar Point Road in Coquille. Deputies followed the vehicle and observed the vehicle travel over the white fog lines numerous times. The trailer hit and traveling over a curb and sidewalk area near the ODOT building outside Coquille. Deputies stopped the vehicle near Hart Lane on Highway 42. As the driver pulled over, the truck and trailer collided with the guard rail for about 50 feet before coming to a stop. Deputies contacted the driver and observed signs of intoxication. The driver performed standardized field sobriety tests and at the conclusion of the test was arrested for DUII. The driver, Justin Nelson 36 years old of Roseburg, was taken to the Coos County Jail. Nelson provided a breath sample and was a .14% BAC. Nelson was cited for DUII and released to jail staff.
