ATV Accident
News release from Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On Monday 03-31-14 at approximately 1456 hrs. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an ATV accident in the Spinreel area of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (0DNRA), west of Lakeside Oregon. The accident was a single vehicle ATV accident that occurred near Dune 4. Michelle Voris, of Couer D Alene Idaho, was northbound on her rental ATV from Spinreel ATV rentals. Michelle dropped off of about a 6 foot slip face dune and flipped the ATV over on top of her. It was reported that Michelle was knocked unconscious and she also sustained injuries to the right side of her rib cage area. Personnel from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Hauser Fire Department Dune Rescue, Bay Cities Ambulance and Spinreel ATV rentals assisted Michelle at the accident scene. Michelle was transported off the sand via Hauser Fire Departments Dune Ambulance and then transported to Bay Area Hospital via Bay Cities Ambulance.
