Assault IV
News release CCSO. On November 17, 2017, at about 1400 hours Deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office along with workers from the Oregon Department of Human Services – Child Welfare responded to 2973 S. Tenmile Lake, which can only be accessed by boat, in order to conduct a welfare check upon three juveniles which reside at the residence. Information had been received that Tiffany Rowland had been assaulted at the residence the night prior. Based upon the investigation, probable cause was developed that an assault had occurred upon Tiffany Rowland and it had been perceived by her minor children. The suspect, Bryan Gooch was located at a later time and arrested for Assault IV Domestic Felony. On November 18, 2017, the investigating deputy listened to Gooch’s phone conversations recorded from the Coos County Jail. In his conversation with another party, Gooch asks the third party to contact Tiffany Rowland and get her to recant her statement. Based upon the conversation an additional charge was alleged for Tampering with a Witness.
Unlawful Use of a Vehicle
News release CCSO. On November 19, 2017 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash on Lillian Slough Lane just South of South Coos River Lane. Upon their arrival, the Deputy contacted Scott Wiard with the vehicle and removing items from it. The vehicle was displaying license plates that were not registered to the vehicle and upon further investigation; the Deputy learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Roseburg. Wiard was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Vehicle. During a searchincident to arrest he was found to be in Possession of a Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Mushrooms). Wiard was booked and lodged in the Coos County Jail. Wiard was held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
