Central Coast Stabbing, April 7

News release from Newport PD.  On April 3, 2014, Newport Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing. The information about the stabbing was provided second-hand by a family member of one of the persons involved in the stabbing. Officers were able to determine an address of 445 NE 36th Street #6 as the location of the incident.  Newport Police Officers arrived and located a 21 year-old male victim with a puncture wound to his shoulder. Further investigation revealed the victim had been arguing with his girlfriend, Ashley Regalado, age 22 of Newport, when she stabbed him in the shoulder with a serrated steak knife.  The victim was treated at the scene by personnel from the Newport Fire Department and PacWest Ambulance. Regalado was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. She was charged with Assault II.
