A 57-year old Brookings male was rescued Friday night, April 11, by members of the Curry Co. Search and Rescue team after he slipped while attempting to climb from the beach to Hwy. 101. Bruce Whetsel was brought up the 200-foot embankment by the use of a rescue rope system. He was transported Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach. His Golden Retriever was not injured.
