On an unseasonably chilly day in central Texas the throwers for the Oregon State University track & field team at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium, wrapping up a busy weekend for the Beavers. With temperatures hovering around 40 degrees the Beavers remained competitive in four events; javelin, hammer throw, shot put, discus. The largest contingent competed in the javelin throw led by senior Destiny Dawson. Dawson placed fourth throwing 142-feet 4-inches. All four competitors placed inside the top 10; Delaney Hall (6th, 140-6), McKenzie Allison (7th, 135-2), Amber Peschka (8th, 127-7). Allison’s throw was her best of the outdoor season. Lindsay McShane set the Oregon State school record in the hammer throw a week ago, and this week placed fourth at the Baylor Invitational. McShane led the Beavers group at 171-feet 5-inches. Sydney Guthrie-Baker and Jessica Molina threw 158-feet 1 inch, and 154-feet 4-inches, respectively. Both Guthrie-Baker and Molina entered into the shot put. Guthrie-Baker placed top 10 pacing the Beavers at 42-feet 1.25-inches. McShane placed 7th in the discus as the only Oregon State competitor with 142-feet 5-inches. The Beavers head north to Portland for the Lewis & Clark Invitational on April 14th.
