Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Junior Chamber of Commerce continues its Spotlight Speaker Series on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 5:30 pm with speaker Judge Brett Pruess. This event will take place in Eden Hall on the Coos Campus, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay. Pruess’ talk “Rights, Responsibilities, and the Dangers of Indifference” will focus on the U.S. Constitution, social justice movements, and the dangers of indifference. What do we do if we witness an injustice? What do we do if we believe the government is wrong? What happens if we do nothing at all? Judge Pruess is a former Peace Corps volunteer and legal aid attorney. The Junior Chamber is organized around a 4-point mission, to: • Create an exclusive portal for opportunities, connections and access to the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, while providing a multi-tiered platform for professional enrichment and readiness. • Develop leaders through volunteer work and community services. • Build a bridge between generations and bring the community together by combining education with business development. • Influence the future of Southwestern Oregon Community College students through civic and community involvement.
