Johnson Mill Rd., CCSO release – On June 21st at about 8:38am Deputies received a report of a vehicle driving recklessly on Johnson Mill Road in Coquille. When the deputies arrived in the area they found a vehicle which matched the description given by the reporting citizen and it did not have a front license plate. After stopping the vehicle for this violation, the deputies found the driver, who was identified as Isidro William Campoverde, 21 years old of Roseburg, to not have a driver’s license and his status was Driving While Suspended at a Misdemeanor level. In addition, Campoverde’s Probation Officer from Douglas County was contacted and that department placed a probation violation detainer on Campoverde. A search of Campoverde and his vehicle yielded a quantity of Methamphetamine and nearly $5,000.00 in US currency. Campoverde was arrested and transported to Coos County Jail. Campovgerde was lodged on a no bail probation violation and $10,000 on the DWS Misdemeanor. He is currently in custody in Douglas County. Campoverde’s currency and Methamphetamine were seized for criminal charging, and his vehicle was towed from the scene. Coquille Tribal Police K9 “Ben” alerted on the currency indicating the presence of illegal drugs.
Meth/Heroin
Hollywood & Barview, CCSO release – On June 27, 2018 at about 3:58 pm, Coos County Sheriff’s office deputies made a traffic stop in the Barview District of Coos County near Hollywood Lane and Barview Road. The deputies contacted the driver, 30 year old Jessica Marie Mclain, Coos Bay, who told them she did not have valid insurance for the vehicle. While preparing a citation and attempting to verify insurance information, the deputies contacted Officer Rob Scoville of the Coquille Tribal Police along with his narcotics K-9 partner “Ben”. Officer Scoville told the deputies that K-9 Ben had given a positive alert on the vehicle for the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the vehicle by the deputies revealed a small purse which contained a glass pipe with white residue in it. This is indicative of methamphetamine use for the smoking device. Additionally, the purse also contained tin foil with burnt residue on it which is indicative of heroin use by smoking. The deputies also seized a small plastic bag in Mclain’s pocket containing suspected methamphetamine. Mclain was arrested and transported to Coos County Jail and a bail set at $75,000. The charges included Unlawful Possession of Meth, Unlawful Possession of Heroin.
