Swept into Pacific Ocean, April 28

A Portland man, reportedly trying to walk a tight rope between two large rock sections on the North Oregon Coast Thursday, April 24, was swept into the Pacific Ocean when a large wave hit him near Cape Kiwanda.  Twenty-five year old Michael Alejandro connected a single rope between the two large rock sections and attempted to walk it about 3 p.m.  The U.S. Coast Guard dispatched a motor lifeboat from Tillamook Bay as well as helicopters from Astoria and North Bend to assist in the search.
