Coos County Participates in Make Someone Smile Week, July 23

BAH release – Our community has been chosen to participate in Teleflora’s Make Someone Smile Week. It’s one of the floral industry’s leading charitable projects. Throughout the week of July 23, hundreds of deserving people in Coos County and more than 30 thousand people across the country will receive floral arrangements in Teleflora’s signature yellow happy face mugs. On July 23-24 the boys and girls at The Boys and Girls Club will have instruction on making fresh flower arrangements in the Teleflora Happy Face Mugs donated by Teleflora and Greenleaf Wholesalers of Portland and Superior Greens in Springfield. The Coos Bay Elk’s Lodge has volunteered to deliver the arrangements and work with the kids during this initiative. Flower arrangements will be delivered to Bay Area Hospital (including the Bay Area Cancer Center), Avamere Health, Inland Point, Bayside Terrace, Life Care Center, Grace Project/DHS Foster Care Parents Program, Ocean Ridge, and Bay Crest Village. Robbyn Repp, the owner of Petal to the Metal Flowers, has the privilege of offering this to our Coos Community as a Teleflora Board Member, and she is the current Unit President. Last year our local community made and delivered 375 arrangements and won some tickets to a Katie Perry concert. This year we are making 650 Teleflora Happy Face mugs. Robbyn says “I am excited to teach the kids a trade and how to give back to their community. Their smiles make it all worthwhile.” For more information, contact Robbyn Repp at (541) 751-8880 or Barbara Bauder at (541) 269-8543.
