Car to Remain in Coastal Crevasse, April 29

An unwanted memory of a March 19th fatal accident on the Central Oregon Coast will remain within a 20-foot deep crevasse on the north side of Cape Foulweather, south of Depoe Bay.  The early morning accident killed a 23-year old Lincoln City woman as her southbound 2008 Saturn Vue left Hwy. 101 and plunged into the ocean side crevasse.  Its responsibility fell upon the State Parks & Recreation Dept. which manages Oregon’s beaches.  Officials say the car is just too heavy, and too deep within the chasm for removal.  Its fate will be left to the Pacific Ocean waves that pound the crevasse.
